A TRADITION SINCE 2012
For over a decade, the Van Metre Cornhole Challenge has raised funds to strengthen housing access across our local community. In 2025, we committed the event's fundraising permanently to veteran housing, partnering first with HeroHomes, an organization that builds homes for those who fought to preserve freedom and democracy for others.
That commitment is already at work. Last year, funds raised through the Challenge helped complete one home and purchase three new lots for future HeroHomes builds. In 2026, we continued that momentum with another donation of proceeds to HeroHomes.
Van Metre has a long history of partnering with organizations like HomeAid and Habitat for Humanity to support housing for individuals and families across Northern Virginia. With the contributions from the 2026 event, we are incredibly proud to share that the Van Metre Cornhole Challenge has now donated more than $1 million to local organizations since its inception in 2012.
